As the aftermath of the chaos that accompanied what is being called, the Zuma riots, reveals extensive damage to property throughout different areas in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, cleanup campaigns have started in different areas within Gauteng, with volunteers contributing to cleanup in areas in Johannesburg.
Another cleanup campaign in Alexandra has been started by the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), "a South African-based agency established primarily to tackle challenges that the nation's youth are faced with". The agency was established as a part of an Act of parliament which was drawn up in 2008.
Led by the NYDA CEO, Waseem Carrim, the organisation heeded the call to restore the country amid the chaos through their own cleanup mission.
